Speaking to reporters from the White House, President Trump announced that he is pushing the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to update their federal guidelines in order to give more leniency to churches, synagogues, and other places of worship that wish to reopen.

“We want to get our churches back,” the President said in the pouring rain outside 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, describing churches as “important in terms of the psyche of our country.”

Recently, churches have undergone severe oppression by Democratic governors who have demanded that they stay closed, even as other non-essential businesses are allowed to open. Some churches have even fallen victim to acts of domestic terrorism, including a church in Mississippi that was deliberately burned down for refusing to close.
